The Omọ́ge Àṣà judging framework evaluates contestants across three core areas using a 100-point scale: Presentation (40 marks), Stage Performance (30 marks), and Boot Camp Assessment (30 marks).
Presentation (40 Marks) focuses on cultural authenticity and language mastery. Judges award up to 10 marks for traditional hairstyles (Irun Ọ̀ṣọ́), evaluating their cultural accuracy, neatness, and how well they complement the contestant's overall attire. Eloquence in native dialect accounts for 15 marks, judging vocal fluency, articulation, and the natural inclusion of traditional proverbs and idioms without relying on English. The final 15 marks go to cultural rendition, measuring the contestant's depth, emotional connection, and original delivery when performing chants, poems, or historical pieces.
Stage Performance (30 Marks) measures how well each contestant commands the live show. This category is evenly split into three 10-mark components: carriage and poise (evaluating regal posture, grace, and confidence while wearing traditional attire), stage presence (focusing on eye contact, warmth, and audience connection), and creative execution (evaluating spatial movement, rhythm, and timing control).
Boot Camp Assessment (30 Marks) reflects the contestant's daily conduct, scored directly by camp chaperones and instructors prior to the final show. This section is divided into three 10-mark areas: discipline and punctuality for rehearsals and events, teamwork and peer interaction (focusing on humility and support for fellow contestants), and overall dedication and receptivity to training during preparation.
